Bathtub, tile and countertop refinishing

In the early 1980's when bathtub refinishing was just in its infancy, it was a crude and archaic business as there was no formal training schools to learn proper refinishing techniques and there were no professional products, as such, Eastern Refinishing had to develop its own techniques and processes. At the time, most products used were automotive and marine based epoxies and urethanes; this coupled with a poor understanding of what was required to produce long term results, most products simply failed miserably, in that they either peeled pre-maturely or they easily stained and turned yellow.
It was at this point in time that Mr. Gayler began to search out and test various products and technologies that were available. He sought to form a new synergy of relentless testing to find the most durable refinishing coatings systems coupled with superior quality training. Surprisingly, even today, there is sadly a great number of refinishing companies who are poorly trained and not skilled in the art of refinishing. Worse yet are those that continue to use inexpensive products when professional products are available and marketed through companies like Hawk Research Labs in Wood Dale, Illinois.
With the growth of the professional bathtub refinishing industry came the rise of products specifically designed for the professional refinisher. And even today, Eastern Refinishing responsibly tests and seeks out the finest products available. After testing hundreds of products over the last 25 years, Eastern Refinishing can proudly state that we have finally discovered the finest system in the industry called Glas-Tech 9000 produced by Hawk Research Labs in Wood Dale, Illinois.
Essentially, Eastern Refinishing uses only surface preparation techniques that are environmentally safe and proven to produce unparraleled results. Unlike some companies that are concerned with taking shortcuts that lead to failures, Eastern Refinishing takes pride in our proprietary multistep process that incorporates the use of poly-amide high-build epoxy primers and high solids aliphatic acrylic urethanes. The end result is a coating system the resembles real porcelain and is designed to last for 10 years before reconditioning is required. We use only the finest materials, which is why our finishes are chemical, solvent, acid, and UV resistive, so they will not yellow, stain, or lose gloss over time.
In addition, we use the latest HVLP spray equipment that reduces over-spray to reduce over-spray, save material, and help the environment. We also use the latest safety equipment to protect our workers and special fume extractors to minimize dust and residual odors; thus leaving our clients home in perfect condition. In fact, Eastern Refinishing was one of the first companies in the industry to have a dedicated quality control department. Presently, Mr. Levi Weppler is responsible for all training of personnel at Eastern Refinishing and oversees quality control, which ensures that our customers receive the very best results possible.
Furthermore, bathtub refinishing is not only a more economical approach to upgrading your kitchen or bath, but its also environemtnally friendly as the the carbon footprint of refinishing a bathub is 10 times lower than replacing a bathtub that eventually ends up in a landfill.
After being in the the refinishing industry for over 20 years, Eastern Refinishing is still one of the largest dealer networks in the country. Even in tough economic times like today, we thrive with increased growth because we understand what our customers desire: professional quality work, superior products, excellent customer service, and value pricing, its what we represent at Eastern Refinishing and what I believe in.

Things you don't know!

If you yelled for 8 years, 7 months and 6 days you would have produced
enough sound energy to heat one cup of coffee.

(Hardly seems worth it.)

If you farted consistently for 6 years and 9 months, enough gas is
produced to create the energy of an atomic bomb..

(Now that's more like it !)

The human heart creates enough pressure when it pumps out to the body to
squirt blood 30 feet.

(O.M.G.!)

A pig's orgasm lasts 30 minutes.

(In my next life, I want to be a pig..)

A cockroach will live nine days without its head before it starves
to death. (Creepy.)

(I'm still not over the pig.)

Banging your head against a wall uses 150 calories an hour

(Don't try this at home, maybe at work)

The male praying mantis cannot copulate while its head is attached to
its body. The female initiates sex by ripping the male's head off.

(Honey, I'm home. What the...?)

The flea can jump 350 times its body length.. It's like a human jumping
the length of a football field.

(30 minutes. Lucky pig! Can you imagine?)

The catfish has over 27,000 taste buds.

(What could be so tasty on the bottom of a pond?)

Some lions mate over 50 times a day.

(I still want to be a pig in my next life...quality over quantity)

Butterflies taste with their feet.

(Something I always wanted to know.)

The strongest muscle in the body is the tongue.

(Hmmmmmm......)

Right-handed people live, on average, nine years longer than left-handed
people.

(If you're ambidextrous, do you split the difference?)

Elephants are the only animals that cannot jump.

(Okay, so that would be a good thing)

A cat's urine glows under a black light.

(I wonder who was paid to figure that out)

An ostrich's eye is bigger than its brain..

(I know some people like that.)

Starfish have no brains

(I know some people like that too.)

Polar bears are left-handed.

(If they switch, they'll live a lot longer)

Humans and dolphins are the only species that have sex for pleasure.

(What about that pig??)

Now that you've smiled at least once, it's your turn to spread these
crazy facts and send this tosomeone you want to bring a smile to, maybe
even a chuckle.

In other words, send it to everyone!

(and God love that pig!)

Customer Testimonials

To: tubwizard@yahoo.ca

Hi Charlie,

I couldn't be happier with the job Levi did on my old, tired bathtub. That bathtub was installed in 1951 and had seen more bare bottoms in 58 years than you can imagine. It was just plain ugly! After Levi worked his magic, I could not believe my eyes. The tub looked like it was brand new. Levi took great care in protecting nearby areas from over spray and my new tub is really beautiful. There was absolutely no clean up for me when Levi finished. How many contractors can you say that about? Now I have to spruce up the rest of the bathroom so the tub does not look out of place. When you consider all the options from replacing the tub to purchasing a liner, yours is the best solution. In a mere four hours my bathtub was transformed. It would take a demolition crew that long just to remove the old tub and the mess they would make would be awful. Then there's the cost of a new tub and labor to install. I also considered a liner but after reading about them I decided that I didn't want one. They often don't fit right and eventually leak causing further headaches and besides, they're expensive. The cost of your service is reasonable, quick, and you guarantee your work. With a useful life of 10-12 years it makes perfect sense to hire Eastern Refinishing. If I am still in this house then and the tub starts looking tired I will simply call you. Thanks Charlie for coming up with a practical, inexpensive solution to restoring old bathtub surfaces to their original luster. I am a genuinely satisfied customer!

Excellent on cruise ships too. We at PCM USA needed a company to reglaze 308 washroom sinks in 9 days. Eastern finished the job in 8 days and each and every sink passed numerous quality control inspections. Bradley Hobi

    Great Experience!

I just wanted to share my recent experience with Eastern Refinishing... Starting with the entertaining call with Charlie (He's certainly a character, but in a good way!), I knew I found the right company. I actually received a quote for $25 less with another company, but felt I'd stick with the company that had such good customer reviews. Charlie set me up with an appt with Rudy Gonzales, who called to confirm the appt and arrived early the day of the appt (Unheard of these days! A pleasant surprise). Rudy explained the process to me and then proceeded with the work. The results were amazing. My wife and I feel like we have a brand new kitchen sink and made the right decision to refinish it rather than replace it. We put on a new faucet and the set up looks BRAND spanking new! I'm gonna recommend Eastern and Rudy to all my friends and associates...

I dealt with Charlie over the phone and he is a character, but sent Manny to my house when he said he would. The finished product looked brand new. Had a minor problem and Charlie was quick to send Manny back to fix. Problem was my fault , but Charlie wanted to make sure I was happy. I would recommend this process and this company to family and friends.

    Professional!

We needed to get 3 bathtubs and the surrounding tile refinished from blue to white in 4 days. I spent 30 minutes listening to answering machines and then called Eastern Refinishing. I was transferred to a guy named "Charlie" who seemed very knowledgable and scheduled the work for thursday. Sure enough, 2 men arrived at 10:00 and went to work. One of them seemed to be deaf and did little talking however their work spoke for them. Within 5-6 hours the bathrooms were completely transformed right down to the caulk being replaced. Needless to say we were quite impressed. The bathtubs looked like new. I would recommend these people for ANY refinishing that you need done but ask for Charlie when you call. He seems to know the most and was really funny too

Home Improvement - Bathrooms (Part I)

    By: Hans Hasselfors
When most people think of home improvement bathrooms, what comes to mind is usually basic information that's not particularly interesting or beneficial. But there's a lot more to home improvement bathrooms than just the basics.

Down through the years the bathroom has played a large role in homes, yet the facility is one of the most detested areas of the home at times. The bathroom gives off the impression that it is something needed, rather than something we could appreciate or find enjoyment within its realm.

Bathrooms compose an excessive amount of plumbing, overwhelming fixtures at times, and an area that adheres to little room for nothing more than bathing or releasing inner nature.

There are various types of bathrooms. Family, master, individual, compartmentalized, half, guest, and other types of bathrooms need considered when repairing or improving the homes area. Special-use, three-quarter, full baths, and disabled bathrooms are types of bathrooms that may need additional consideration when considering home improvement.

Before starting to work on your bathroom, it is important that you clean the area in which you will work. Removing all dust particles including the tools you will use for repair or improvement.

After you dust the area, take a browse about the area to see what you are considering. Try to plan ahead of the game; by setting up a systematic idea of what you intend to do.

If you want to do things completely right, you may want to file your notions on a piece of paper. After you file you will need to analyze the bathroom to again see what you intend to do to the area for improvement. You could also draw up a list of likable areas and dislikeable areas.

You will need to consider during analyze of the bathroom, considering storage area, space, layout, shower/bathtub, faucets, fixtures, counters, flooring, ventilation, heat, walls, electrical layouts and so forth.

If your bathroom is small, consider what you need to do to expand the area for comfort ability. Sometimes if your home has a larger area in the next room and the space is not needed you could take out a wall linking to the bathroom and other room to expand your bathroom.

I trust that what you've read so far has been informative. The following section should go a long way toward clearing up any uncertainty that may remain.

By the way, before you get started remodeling your bathroom you may want to check with your local City Hall. Many states have laws for building, which includes codes and building permits. The permits are often affordable, thus having a permit if required can save you from fines and costs.

If you are improving, your bathroom beware that fixtures are the most costly items to repair within the cavity of the room. Regardless if you need to repair or remodel your bathroom, regardless of the expense think equity and you will be ok.

When remodeling your bathroom if you are searching for appeal you may want to consider replacing cabinets to reach an effect. If you are merely searching for style verses complete make over a few designs may increase the equity of your home value at the same time bring to light that bathrooms do bring forth pleasure.

Common bathrooms give out a somewhat hidden expression at the same time giving a chilling feel. The bathrooms may have cabinets with dark or medium wood coloring, thus the only appeal in these types of bathrooms is the accessories bought extra to bring out the design.

Thus, when considering designing of bathrooms verses home improvement consider the European style, modern style, Mediterranean style, "turn-of-the Century, or else the Oriental style bathroom. Other styles of bathrooms including the rain forest style bring out a warming atmosphere as it provides a refreshing outdoors appeal.

Considering the rain forest style, we can analyze the situation and see that this effect may come cheaper than other styles of bathrooms.

The rain forest style could come to life if the homeowner adds plants, flowers, and other types of accessories to the bathroom coupled with forest-affect wallpaper. Tile is cheap, thus the floors could be finished for around forty of fifty dollars, and bring to life a storming effect.
