Bathroom Suites Can Be Designed As Havens

Ask any mother for the one location in the house where she has the greatest chance of privacy and the answer is likely to be the bathroom. While even this room isn't always considered scared to children, bathrooms can be designed to offer mom some much needed solace and privacy. To achieve this and a whole lot more, many families look into creating bathroom suites for their master bathrooms.

Bathroom suites are generally multi-chambered rooms that not only serve a functional purpose, they also offer a refuge from a long, hard day. While some might think it odd to find a haven in a powder room, the reality is when these suites are well designed they can be a favorite room in the house for not only mom, but dad, too. Offering lots of space and separate places for different functions, these rooms can be beautiful and luxurious while also offering some great escape possibilities.

While not all bathroom suites are created alike, some of the things they might include are:

* Tub area. When a suite is desired, the tub will generally be an oversized one. It very likely will either be a garden tub by design or a whirlpool creation. Either way, the tub generally gets its own space in the suite. A shower might be a freestanding addition to the block of rooms, or it could be included with the tub as they tend to be in regular bathrooms.

* Vanity area. Rather than have everything combined, well designed bathroom suites have a place for everything. The vanity area where mom will brush her hair, do her make up and so on typically gets its own set space in a room designed with a bathroom suite in mind. Some vanity areas offer his and hers sinks so both mom and dad can get ready at the same time. This is great for couples that both work and compete for bathroom space and time in the mornings.

* Toilet area. This is one area in a typical suite that will stand alone. It will generally be closed off from other portions of the suite by solid doors, too.

* Closet/dressing areas. These can be rather elaborate in some suites. A bigger suite might include his and hers dressing areas and closets. In a full suite, these closets will be walk in and might even be large enough to house dressers, full length mirrors and more. Sometimes they are so elaborate, they also include specially designed closet storage areas for jewelry, shoes and other accessories.

The whole idea behind suites in the bathroom area is to create a room that's relaxing to use. Whether it's for a long, hot soak in the tub or to enjoy some major luxury each morning while getting dressed, the key in creating a bathroom suite is to have multiple small chambers that interlock. Each room will serve typically no more than two purposes.

Created to pamper, spoil and offer refuge, suites can be just the thing for a busy mom that needs a break. In addition, they can be rather practical additions for anyone that needs ample storage area in the bathroom.
